The covered patio with 7 hammocks and a couple of picnic tables:

Maria Valeria and Ligia Maria have just about adopted me as their new big sister
Relaxing in the hammock, of course :)
The boys enjoyed the sunshine and the beach--Valtteri told us last night at dinner that when he walked down and saw the ocean, it almost brought tears because he'd never seen anything so beautiful. I guess it makes sense that Finland doesn't have great beaches...

Looking down the beach toward the lighthouse and fishermen and the village
A beautiful end to a great day!
Today has been a laid back day but also somewhat productive. I worked on some homework this morning, have been researching hotels in Costa Rica (found a hostel that's $11 per person per night!), and trying to figure out the best driving route for us to get there. Later this afternoon I have a doctor's appointment because basically the entire time I've been here (3 weeks tomorrow), my skin has been incredibly itchy. It's woken me up at night a few times, and Benadryl isn't helping much, so hopefully this doctor will have some ideas of what it might be. Three more months of itchy skin just won't do!
Much to my surprise and JOY today, I got mail! Lara, a friend of mine from Whitworth, wrote me a wonderful letter, complete with colored construction paper, pretty markers, and encouraging Bible verses. Lara spent last fall semester studying abroad in Costa Rica, so she knows what it's like and had some great questions for me. It was so exciting to get mail! Haha
