So we just got back from seeing a(nother) movie at the theaters, which I will not be making a habit of doing, by the way. This time, however, we went to a different theater than the last one, and it was ridiculous! First of all, a ticket cost about the same as one in the States (the theater last weekend was about $2.50). You have to pick which seat you want (like on an airplane), because instead of normal seats, they're huge comfy leather reclining seats. As if that's not enough, there's also a menu to order from (pop corn? hot dog? jack daniel's or a margarita, anyone?) and a button next to your seat which you can push and someone comes to take your order, then brings it to you!
Anyways, it was a fun thing to experience and say we'd done it, although I'm not really planning on going back anytime soon. It also seems pretty strange to go somewhere like that in the second-poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
On another note, I'm really enjoying my 20-21st Century US/Latin American Relations class. The professor is awesome and there are some pretty intelligent students in the class, so I think we'll have some interesting discussions in there.
No classes tomorrow (yay 4 day weekends!) so I think my plans so far are to go shopping with my new friend Francis tomorrow afternoon. I'm quickly finding that I didn't bring enough dressier-type shirts. They dress so much more formally here, even for classes! So I need to get a couple of things. Kate invited me to hang out with her on Saturday, which will be great :) She's taking Olivia's (her little sister) senior pictures and asked if I want to hang out with them and maybe help a bit. Other than that, I'll probably go to church on Sunday, and the boys want to go out one night (probably Saturday).
