It hit me today how quickly my trip is coming to a close. I'll be leaving here next wednesday...just a week and a half away. I'm really excited to see my family and everyone at home, but i'm gonna miss this place SO much. God has been doing really incredible things here in my heart and life and at the camp in general. I've built some AMAZING relationships here. the other intern girls have become like older sisters to me...it's awesome how closely we've bonded in just over a month. i'm really gonna miss the staff here as well. they rock.
This last group that we had was our first non-southerners group. they were from hope college in holland, michigan and were a GREAT group. it was a small-ish group again, which was nice, and they were just really fun and easy to get along with. i didn't end up spending the whole week laying block, which was a major blessing...just 2 days of it. the rest of the week i worked on the kitchen project again, but my wrist has started hurting so i had to wear a brace and still do, and roy doesn't let me do everything so i don't hurt it more. i think it's just tendonitis from overuse since i've been here, but yeah. not so fun.
we babysat for April (another staff member) last night after spending all afternoon in town. it was great...we got to watch movies and Friends (for those of you that know my addiction to Friends, you can imagine how much i loved that! haha) our next work team comes in in about 3.5 hours, and once again, they're from the south :o) next weekend we only have half a day off and then our final group comes in, although they aren't a work team. it's all the dominican leaders in the country for Vida Joven (young life), and it's their training camp. apparently it's absolute CRAZINESS the whole time, especially since there will be close to 80 or 90 of them.
I found out this week that i'm going to be leading Young Life at mt. spokane high school starting in the fall, and i might be taking girls to camp this summer for a week, which would be really awesome and i'd get to know some girls before starting in the fall. so we'll see...but i'm really excited about leading!
this will probably be my last chance for internet before i come home, so thanks to everyone who's kept up on my life for the last month and a half! I hope everyone is doing well and God is blessing your lives as much as He's blessed mine recently.
Love and hugs,
Aly
