Home sweet home

I'm finally at home and somewhat rested up, although i think i'm going to take a nap in a little bit :o) Yesterday was my travel day and it was SO long! I got up at 4:45am (which is 1:45am at home) and traveled through 4 different airports, ALMOST missed my flight to seattle in chicago, and finally got to sleep at 11:30 last night in my own bed...yay! but wow...21 hours of being awake and traveling makes for one looooooooong day.

it's so so good to be back home and see my family and my puppy and sleep in my own bed, but it is a little bit sad. i miss camp already--God's beauty is just EVERYWHERE in the Dominican and so much more obvious. When i got to the airport in Miami i had quite a bit of culture shock...i wasn't surrounded by Spanish constantly in the background, and everything was written in English, and one of the things that struck me the most was how hectic and noisy life is here in the states. The DR is loud, but i never really felt like it was noisy. To me, noise is just distracting and causes craziness, whereas loudness is just that--loudness. great explanation, i know. i guess what i'm trying to say is that it just really hit me how busy and full of hecticness our lives are here in America, and how i'm definitely going to miss the more simplistic ways of being at Pico Escondido.

On the other hand, though, not gonna lie, i do love having my cell phone and computer back. I have learned, however, the value of time and that I want to be more purposeful with my time. There is a lot i've learned over the past 6 weeks, and tons that God has done in my life--too much to write on here, but I really would love to share about how He's worked in me through this experience, so if you want to hear about it, call or email me and we can chat or go out to coffee or something.

glad to be home and can't wait to see everyone!
