Our big work team left this morning, which on one hand was a bit of a relief because it was hard having SO many people around, but on the other hand it was definitely sad to see them go. I worked on the frisbee golf course all week, chopping away at the jungle with a machete haha...i'm sure that was a sight to see! I had lots of fun though, and the team i was leading was awesome. I made one great friendship in my group and was sad they left today.
Us interns worked today and have tomorrow off, but we've got the night to ourselves and came into town for dinner and internet. Tomorrow we get to SLEEP IN!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've gotten to do that the whole time we've been here. and i'm SO excited hahaha. At 10 Roy is picking us up and taking us kayaking, which should be really fun, and then in the afternoon, we're all getting half hour massages for 100 pesos each. That's like 3 bucks! We're going to Joey and Sara's for dinner tomorrow night and babysitting Risa (yay!!). We'll get to use their Vonage phone for free instead of using the call center tonight and having to pay for it. The next work team comes in tomorrow night around 6:30 ish, but there's only 15 or so of them, which is a very manageable size.
I'm working on the community service project all week, and to be honest, I wish I wasn't. It's laying block...allllllll week long, and that's probably my least favorite task here. I'll definitely be praying for a good attitude, and I just need to keep in mind that it's for God's glory, not mine. The last couple days i've been in a bit of a funky mood, and i think i just need some quiet time because of the kajillion (that's right, kajillion) people that have been around this week. There was never really a quiet moment. even sleeping wasn't usually peaceful all night because we had a 2 year old (the cutest kid i've EVER seen) in the room right next to us. But that's alright. this will be a good week and a bit restful...hopefully :o)
That's all i've got for now...i love hearing from people, so email me and let me know what's going on in your lives!
Blessings,
Aly
