Cold weather
No, no....I'm not experiencing cold weather here. Not at all. The rains from Hurricane Ida have passed and we got blasted with another heat wave earlier in the week. But I just wanted to comment that although all of you back at home probably think I'm crazy and would swap weather with me any day, I miss the cold weather! I feel like I've been in eternal summer, and I don't remember what it's like to have a season change because, well, there hasn't been one! I've been living summer for 5 or 6 months now. And it's really strange to me that next week is Thanksgiving, and I'm hearing reports from Whitworth friends of snow in Spokane, reports from friends in Yakima of ski season starting, and seeing pictures on Facebook of leaves falling and the sweaters, jackets, and scarves coming out of hiding. But here, I'm wearing shorts and a t-shirt and sleep with two fans directed at me each night. I know that probably 2 weeks into being home, I'll be wondering why in the world I ever complained about the heat here, and so for now, I'm soaking up the sun (although I'm more pale now than when I arrived!) and nice weather, but will be so excited to come home to fall/winter weather, and all that comes with it! Cozy blankets, warm clothes, a hot cup of cider, curling up by the fireplace reading, putting on my slippers, bundling up to go anywhere...
