I just realized a couple days ago that I'm leaving in less than a month...it's crazy how things sneak up on you like that! I'm still working on my plane reservations, but I've been emailing a little with the other 3 girls that will be interns with me, which is cool. I'm getting really excited but also nervous. I'm in Hawaii right now for Jan term, and I really feel like God is preparing my heart for this trip (yay!) and beyond. This month has been super restful--the ocean is my FAVORITE place on earth, and getting to spend a good chunk of time here has been incredible. Last night before dinner I just went down to the beach and listened to music and stuck my toes in the sand and wiggled them around. :o) I was thinking recently about the fact that by the time I get to the DR, it'll have been over 2 months since I'll have taken a Spanish class--that's scary. I can already feel it slipping away... but it'll come back, and that's just another trust thing I need to lift up to God. (That and do some work of my own before I leave, of course). They sent me my packing list a couple weeks ago, and just for the record, I'm horrible at packing light. I'm a good packer, but not a good pack-light-er. And my packing list is basically this: bring your Bible, a journal, 1 pair tennis shoes, 1 pair flip flops, toiletries, and 5 days worth of work clothes and chill clothes. Basically, pack 1 week's worth of stuff for a month and a half stay. Kinda cool, though, that I don't have to worry about it :o)
Okay, time to study for my Jan term test tomorrow morning!
